I believe that at this time there needs to be wirtings about the filth in this world, these writings are what we need to change America. Muckrakers tell the truth, they bring up the things that people need to hear. They must write about these unpleasent things to inspire people to change. As Teddy Rosevelt said "There are times and places were this service is the most needed service of all services that can be preformed." People need to be aware of the truth even if the truth isnt pretty.
I believe the political bosses were extremely corrupt. They had so much control over the government it wasn't even a democracy. I once wrote about women's suffrage saying "the bosses know that, were they to allow it come to a vote, the people would carry our fight for us. So they refuse to allow the legislature to submit the question..." (The Selected Papers of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony). One person should not have this much power in the government. It should be up to the people.
My goal is to promote moral improvement. I was president of the Daughters of Temperance and believe that drinking liquor is sinful. I later founded the Women's State Temperance Society and petitioned to pass a law that limits the selling of alcohol. I also supported the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU). Drinking compromised peoples character and is morally wrong. You see this especially in the case of Abby Mcfarland, her abusive ex husband killed her fiancé when he was drunk and got away with it in court pleading temporary insanity. This insanity should be no more.
Who/What?- She was a famous women’s rights activist. She traveled, campaigned, and lectured throughout the U.S. on women’s suffrage. She blamed the lack of women’s rights for abortion and prostitution, saying that women felt they had no other choice but to turn to abortion or go on the streets.

When?-Born in 1820 but joined the women’s rights movement in 1852.

Where?- Born in Massachusetts but lectured all over America.

Why Important?-  She petitioned and got signatures for the right for married women to own property.

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
